Bundle pick list

When the Product is a bundle is checked, inventory can then be tracked. However when the packing list is printed the components of the bundle are not printed like other products on the order. Current work around is to add them to the fulfillment instructions and the items show up on one line. Would be great to have them fully detailed on packing list

Hey everyone! There's a bit of varying feedback on this request, but we just published a solution that should be a major improvement.
It's a new packing list template that combines all Bundle (shared inventory) items down to the base sku.
Give it a try and let us know what you think!

Brooks Hitzfield: This has been available to us for some time now, not sure about others. It doesn't suit our needs the way we handle things unfortunately.
We have recently switched to the sevensons format as it's a little easier to read for our staff.
We would really like a customizable template and/or a toggle option to display bundle product contents below them/their line item.
Customizable templates for packing lists, invoices, etc would be nice all around, even if it's just a html editor or a simple format and toggle setting menu something simple.

Lazy J Farms Butcher Shop: hey there! There must be some confusion because the new consolidated template was built and released only weeks ago.
Lazy J Farms Butcher Shop
Brooks Bob Hitzfield: I have seen in the option list for us since at least sometime around late September and very early October. My other comment with a screenshot is from beginning of October and it includes the consolidated format.
It was around that time (late September) we were reviewing pack list formats so I'm not sure if we had it before then.
I'd still like to see some options or a template system for packing lists, invoices, etc.

Lazy J Farms Butcher Shop: Hey there! Acknowledging your request on the ability to customize packing list/invoices. I would suggest requesting that as a separate feature if you haven't already.
My guess is that you're confusing the "Consolidated" packing list template with the "Compact" template.
The "Compact" template has been around for years, but the "Consolidated" template is a net new feature released at the time of this announcement.

I wish to show continued/updated support for this as a feature. OR maybe adjustable/templatable packing lists.
They have a few options, for those that may not know, but they aren't quite ideal for our use-case.
If you go to Settings>Orders
There is an option for Packing List Style.
Default is what we use currently.
(You can also choose whether packing lists will print on a new page per order, when selecting in bulk.)
The option to select from are Default, Compact, Consolidated, and Seven Sons. Consolidated format shows all items in an order, but does not list the group product name.
Default is what we use currently and its solid all around. However, the QTY section is sometimes overlooked by staff who will read weight instead. It doesn't show the listed the items within a bundle. But it does generally show all the vital details, even if a little small/hard to read quickly and easily at times.
For the Default list, making the QTY, key order/customer details a little bold/bigger or more obvious would help, and adding an indented list of what is included in each value bundle would make it ideal.
Compact is very compact but not entirely obvious to everyone what is what.
I also feel it lacks readability and ideal information. The Customer information is small and hard to read quickly/easily, SKUs are small and have no spacing next to product names, and there are no titles/headers. But it displays the unit descriptions, qty, and estimated line weight.
Consolidated is what some of you may be looking for, but it again is not ideal for our use case. The visual layout is good, but it is missing key information. It doesn't separate standard line items from those items within a bundle. (It IS consolidated after all.) It doesn't list the bundle name. But the layout is neat, and easy to write on/update during the processing & packing stages. It is missing a variety of the product/unit descriptions however.
Seven Sons is a hybrid of the Consolidated format. It list products in a similar visual format, but list items as they are listed on the default. You'll see the pack names but not the items included. It also has doesn't display the pack/unit description as the default does.
If the default and/or seven sons format would maybe indent under bundle/pack name and list the items within the bundle, include the description as shown on the product/store page and SKU, it would be a great improvement.
The descriptions and data on the default template is what we need, but the QTY and box to fill in weights on sevensons are ideal while customer/order information is easier to read at a glance.
I attached some images for reference of whats available for me currently with a demo/test order. The last one is how we fill out a pack list to update the order back in GC.

I know how to do that as I do it already. Its not quite as tidy as I would like but it does work when you are packing: Here you go
Go to your products page that lists all the products you provide.
Where it says Inventory there is a gear.
Click on this gear.
About 2/3s down the menu that opens is an item: Fulfillment Instructions
Click to select this.
There is now a field where you can enter the items in your bundle. I use the wingdings character to make a check box before each item that I can then black out while packing my order. You can also leave a space or other punctuation as there is no 'return' and it is just a long line of text until it reaches the end of the field and then it 'returns'
Hope that helps.

A toggle allowing bundles to be set to display their contents on the packing list would be a huge improvement. I know you can put that information on the fulfillment instructions but it is very clunky and hard to keep updated. We run our packing lists so that you start on one end of the line and work to the other. The current setup for bundles wrecks that setup.
TIM CLARKSON
This is something I deal with twice a week. It would be great to have the system designate each item from the bundle to the individual products on the product sales report. No more adding bundle amounts to individual products for pulling from freezer.
Wesley Shank
TIM CLARKSON: Doesn't the Harvest Report that they recently updated take care of this, Tim? That's what we use to get grand total amounts for pulling out of freezer. If there is a 10 Pack and 20 Pack Bundle of Ground Beef and those "bundles" are set to track inventory on bundled items then GrazeCart shows the total number of Ground Beef Packages to pull out of the freezer on the Harvest Report. This also works for variety bundles if you have them set to track all the different items in the bundle.
TIM CLARKSON
Wesley Shank: I wasn’t aware of that! That’s a huge game changer for me :)
Wesley Shank
TIM CLARKSON: Glad to be able to help! :) I think it was something they just updated in the last couple months....
Maria McIntyre
Wesley Shank: where is the harvest report displayed? I only have 4 options under my reports- but I haven’t upgraded so that may be why.
Wesley Shank
Maria McIntyre: Yes, it should be listed under the reports tab with everything else... at least on the upgraded version.
Caroline VanDerLoop
Wesley Shank: The inventory is corrected when the bundle is purchased but the individual items in a variety bundle still have to be pulled and packed for the person who ordered. there is no place on the packing list that shows what is needed. I have to make separate Bundles lists and print those separately to attach to my packing sheet for the customer who ordered the bundle.
If the bundle 'broke down' on the packing list then it could be pulled like individual orders.
Wesley Shank
Caroline VanDerLoop: Hey, that actually just added fulfillment instructions options where you can type out extra details about the contents of a variety bundle if you want that to show up on the packing list. Here is the link for more details https://grazecart.canny.io/changelog/fulfillment-instructions
David Boatright
Wesley Shank: Yes but there is a character limit that is way too short! Your bundle better not have more than 5 or six items. The character limit makes it unfunctional for most bundles.
Wesley Shank
David Boatright: Ok, I didn't realize it was so short... I guess that wouldn't help much for bundle contents description then.
Wesley Shank
This would definitely need to be an option that could be turned off. I probably wouldn't use it since we assemble all variety bundles ahead of time to streamline order fulfillment.
Caroline VanDerLoop
Wesley Shank: Ah, I see. That would explain the use of the report. We havent yet figured space to store an assembled bundle otherwise we would do that as well as our 10 bundle bags of ground beef and pork. thats an excellent idea. I'll look into it.
Wesley Shank
Caroline VanDerLoop: Yeah, space can definitely be a struggle... That's why we only do preassembled bundles on our variety packs - not with 10 PK of Ground Beef savings since that can easily be pulled during order fulfillment.
