Shopping cart and Checkout process MUST validate against current prices
complete
Tussock Sedge Farm
With the current logic, a customer can keep items in their shopping cart for any period of time, and whenever they choose to complete the checkout process there is absolutely zero validation done to ensure the price hasn’t changed. These price discrepancies can occur through many scenarios (ie. Items left in cart for extended time frames, not completing a purchase while a promotion or sale is active, etc). I can’t think of any e-commerce platform or company that doesn’t perform some type of pricing validation or refresh (up or down) to ensure that every time an order is placed the prices are real time.
Just as the “pay for exact weight” functionality was a big draw for farms to use the graze cart platform because of the fairness to both the consumer and farmer, so too should be ensuring the customer is always charged accurately based on current pricing.

While we're at it... Maybe the cart can update pricing when a customer changes their delivery address during checkout. We have several (more than 5) customers that own summer homes, travel, or ship to multiple addresses in different delivery zones. The pricing appears to get pulled from their default zone, but doesn't update when they enter a different address during checkout or whenever they are changing it.

Hey Everyone, this request is being solved with an update we pushed live to remove the concept of unconfirmed orders.
Right now you have to opt into the update while it's new which you can learn how to do here –> https://www.loom.com/share/8abf066cef844ab7adc5eff7ca85862d?sid=3bebd5c3-c19f-4ecb-81b1-5dcb5f4897c0

Brooks Hitzfield: THANK YOU Brooks and the rest of the support team!!! I know there was a lot that went into being able to make this happen...we GREATLY appreciate it!!!!

Brooks Hitzfield: Awesome!! Thank you for putting the time into this!
If we opt into the new update, we will no longer be able to export future unconfirmed subscription orders, correct? We are currently using this to project sub orders so might need to wait on the update.
Brooks Hitzfield
Hey – Remington Kesten: Subscriptions actually no longer use unconfirmed orders as of a few weeks ago. That change came with the subscription management update here –> https://grazecart.canny.io/changelog/subscription-management

This change will be captured in a database restructure project that's currently in-progress.

Brooks Hitzfield: Fantastic news, as there are no doubt many other benefits from reconfiguring the backend. Big thanks to you all!

This is why I go through and delete abandoned carts from time to time. But yes... It's frustrating when I see outdated pricing make is way through!

Jerica Cadman: a quick prompt to delete all orders over 1 week old could help eliminate this problem.
